From 17 May to 5 July 2025, Zoë and her team at Save a Fishie NPC completed 57 cleanups across the country removing an incredible 7.3 tons of waste from the South African coastline.

A three-woman team traveled across seven provinces and the entire length of South Africa’s coastline to tackle plastic pollution and raise awareness around environmental conservation during the Coast 2 Coast National Beach Clean-Up Campaign.

The campaign’s efforts have not only protected and preserved the remarkable beauty of South Africa’s beaches but have also helped to safeguard the diverse marine ecosystems and the wildlife that depends on them.

“This journey was about so much more than just collecting litter. It was about uniting communities, raising awareness, and proving that when we work together, we can protect our oceans and our planet,” Zoe said.

Save a Fishie expressed deep gratitude to its sponsors and supporters.

Moreover, clean beaches serve as prime destinations for tourists, thus boosting local economies and rejuvenating coastal communities.
