Clean-up and Recycle SA Week takes place annually, during the week before the International Coastal Clean-up.
This clean-up week is a national event and includes National River Clean-up Day (Wednesday), Recycling Day SA (Friday) and International Coastal Clean-up Day (Saturday) and is part of World Clean-up Day (Saturday)
We encourage communities around South Africa to get involved in River Clean-Up Day by removing litter from rivers, streams, canals, and any inland water sources in their immediate area. By recycling the plastics that are removed, you not only protect the health of the rivers, but you also keep plastics out of the ocean and contribute to the waste pickers and recycling industry’s earning potential.
Clean City SA will host this event to celebrate the International Coastal Clean-up as follows
